The Embassy of India in Beirut is pleased to highlight the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), India’s premier annual celebration of global cinema, taking place from 20th to 28th November 2025 in Goa, India. Recognized as one of Asia’s most prestigious film festivals, IFFI serves as a vibrant platform for artistic expression, creative collaboration, and meaningful dialogue within the international film community.
This year’s edition carries special significance for Lebanon, as three distinguished Lebanese films have been selected for screening at the festival:
• The Visual Feminist Manifesto
• Dead Dog
• It’s a Sad and Beautiful World
Their selection reflects the remarkable depth, originality, and evolving global appeal of Lebanese cinema, while further strengthening the cultural ties between India and Lebanon.
The 56th IFFI promises an expanded and dynamic celebration of world cinema, featuring:
• Global Showcase: More than 240 films from 81 countries across competitive and non competitive sections. • Grand Opening: A colourful float parade in Panaji, transforming the city’s streets into a public celebration of cinematic artistry.
• Industry Engagement: Expert-led masterclasses and in-conversation sessions with acclaimed filmmakers and industry visionaries on 21 November.
• Festival Theme: “Convergence of Creativity & Technology,” highlighting the evolving relationship between innovative storytelling and technological advancement in filmmaking.
• Cultural Extravaganza: IFFIESTA, a four-day cultural event featuring music, art, and live performances, celebrating India’s diverse creative traditions.
IFFI is jointly organised by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the Government of Goa, continuing a proud legacy of excellence and cultural exchange.
The Embassy of India in Beirut encourages Lebanese filmmakers, producers, artists, and cinema enthusiasts to engage with this year’s festival, explore new avenues for collaboration, and celebrate the shared passion for the art of cinema.
